Cannot connect to data server

SYMPTOM During the installation of Yearli, the following error message displays: “Cannot Connect to Data Server”.
CAUSE Anti-virus software was running during the installation, or an SQL instance for a different program is already installed and has interfered with the Yearli installation process.
RESOLUTION Procedure 1 (Disable anti-virus software, enable protocols, and restart services)
- Close out of the error message and let the installation finish.
- Disable any anti-virus software currently running on the machine.
- Access the Microsoft SQL Server Configuration Manager. For steps to access the configuration manager see the How do I access SQL Server Configuration Manager? article.
- On the left, double click on SQL Server Network Configuration (32bit).
- Choose Protocols for YD2015_SS8E*.
- Right click on TCP/IP and select Enable.
- Right click on Named Pipes and select Enable.
- On the left, double click on SQL Native Client 10.0 Configuration (32bit).
- Select Client Protocols.
- Right click on Named Pipes and select Enable.
- Click on SQL Server Services in the left pane.
- Right click on SQL Server (YD2015_SS8E)* and select Restart.
- Right click on SQL Server Browser and select Restart.
- Install Yearli over the top of the existing installation.
*The SQL Server instance will differ depending on the version of the program. The SQL servers associated with each version of the program are:
- Winfiler 2012 - 2013: WF_SS8E
- WinFiler Plus 2013 - 2014: WFP_SS8E
- Yearli 2014: WFP_SS8E
- Yearli 2015 - Current: WFP_SS8E or YD2015_SS8E
